Leading with Purpose – My Journey Through ISB’s Leadership Training Program

This statement has always resonated deeply in me. And recently, it became even more meaningful as I completed the Leadership Essentials Program at the prestigious Indian School of Business (ISB). 

As the Principal at  Kochi Business School, I believe that leadership is about responsibility, inspiration, and continuous self-development rather than just authority. For me, it was much more than just a certification program. It was a profound and earnest encounter that challenged my leadership style, my approach to listening, and my approach to personal growth.

The ISB Leadership Essentials Certificate is an expression of values I hold dear: leading with empathy, thinking clearly, and acting with integrity. The top business school of India has curated this program in such a way that it truly assists leaders in their evolution, especially while living in the turbulent times that we do.

When I joined the program with an intention to understand myself better, my team, and the wider academic ecosystem in which they will operate. The sessions deepened my insight into my leadership style, increased my emotional intelligence, and added some practical tools for collaborating better with diverse teams. It strengthened my ability to engage with various stakeholders, students, faculty, and partners in a collegial manner towards a shared set of goals. The training further solidified my courage to lead change with resilience and optimism 

What made this experience unique was the emphasis on reflection. Instead of solely chasing results, I was encouraged to pause and look within. This deep dive into what genuinely educates humanity, promotes inclusiveness, and drives impact led me to redefine my purpose.

I am very much excited to take the lessons I learned to my home, Kochi Business School, where every step forward is shared. The vision was always based on collaborative spirit, kindness, and excellence, and this learning injects new energy into the journey.
