My Heartfelt Journey with Kochi Business School – A Moment of Pride

I still remember the day I first stepped into Kochi Business School with a heart full of dreams and a mind buzzing with ideas. It wasn’t just about leading an institution - it was about building a space where your minds could dream, grow, and thrive. Today, as I sit back and reflect on our journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. Our story was recently featured in Kerala magazine, and I couldn’t be more proud—not of myself, but of the incredible people who walk this path with me every day.

When I took over in 2020, we had just 20 students. Many questioned our capabilities, and the challenges were plenty. But these challenges didn’t scare me; I used them as my driving force. With the unwavering support of my wonderful team and the blessing of my family, we set out to rewrite the narrative of what a business school could be.

What sets Kochi Business School apart is our approach. For me, education is not just about marks or degrees. It’s about mentorship, transformation, and real-world readiness. I believe in looking beyond textbooks and into the hearts and minds of students. Each student is different, with unique talents, struggles, and potential. That’s why we introduced individual mentor groups, ensuring every student gets the personal attention they deserve. To me, they are not just students - they are my children.

My own journey was shaped by the humble values passed on to me by my father, Thomas Mathew, a math professor, and the strength I drew from my aunt, who stood by me like a rock. These values taught me the importance of compassion, hard work, and flexibility - all of which I try to bring and care for. When I see our students walk into interviews with confidence or land jobs with leading companies, I feel a deep sense of fulfillment. 

The recognition from the success of Kerala is more than just an article. It is a reminder that we are on the right path - a path built with love, sincerity, and genuine desire to create change.
