Proud Moment: LEAD College Signs MoU with Kudumbashree
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between our parent institution, LEAD College of Management, and the Kudumbashree State Mission, Kerala's premier effort for eradicating poverty and empowering women, is a significant accomplishment that fills me with immense satisfaction and joy.
This partnership is a major step toward a future in which community development and academia collaborate. This moment seems like a personal celebration for all of us at Kochi Business School (KBS), where I serve as the principal. KBS operates under the inspiring direction of LEAD College of Management.
The significance and scope of this collaboration were further highlighted by the attendance of Shri M. B Rajesh, Hon. Minister for LSGD, Excise & Parliamentary Affairs. His insightful and visionary remarks served as a reminder to us about the value of cooperation between the public sector, academic institutions, and the general public.
A Forward-thinking Collaboration
In Kerala, the Kudumbashree State Mission has long been a leader in promoting inclusive growth, empowering women, and enhancing livelihoods. This collaboration aims to increase that impact on a much bigger scale by partnering with LEAD College of Management, a pioneer in leadership development and entrepreneurial education.
The following are some of the MoU's main areas of focus:
- Mentoring and training for Kudumbashree women in entrepreneurship
- Programs for skill development geared toward SHG members and community leaders
- Students can participate in grassroots development through real-world initiatives and internships.
- Collaborative studies on women-led businesses and sustainable development
- Innovation centers and micro business incubation assistance
This is a dedication to creating a more powerful, independent Kerala, not only a partnership.

Likewise, MOU is consistent with KBS’s principles. It reinforces our conviction that education needs to transcend textbooks and have a tangible impact. It confirms our goal of developing students who are not only prepared for the workforce but also socially and environmentally concerned human.
This bold move of Lead College to work with Kudumbashree inspires us. In light of Lead's pioneering efforts, we are inspired to be actively engaged in shaping a positive future.
