Shaping Leaders of Tomorrow – A Heartfelt Reflection on My Interview with Behindwoods
A few days ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to be featured on the Behindwoods YouTube channel - an experience that left me feeling both humbled and proud. As the principal of Kochi Business School(KBS), I have always preferred transparent, heart-to-heart conversations about education, leadership, and the kind of future we’re shaping for our students. This interview, hosted gracefully by Veena, gave me a platform to share the story of KBS and the values we hold close.
During the interview, I was proud to talk about KBS’s most significant achievements: our students’ consistent success in job placements. When a KBS graduate recently landed a role in a prestigious top-tier company with a ₹12 lakh CTC package, it was a moment of pride not only for that student but for the entire KBS family. This achievement reflected years of hard work, mentorship, and our shared commitment to excellence.
But KBS is not just about placements. What fills me with deep joy is how we have nurtured a culture that encourages entrepreneurial spirit. I shared during the interview how we actively support students who dream beyond the conventional path, those who dare to create something new. Our programs are designed not just to educate but to inspire, mentor, and walk with our students as they bring their innovative ideas to life.
One of the most cherished aspects of our institution is our holistic approach to teaching. As I mentioned in the interview, education at KBS goes beyond books. We aim to shape well-rounded individuals who carry strength not only in knowledge but in character. We focus equally on life skills, emotional intelligence, communication, and ethics because we know that true leadership is rooted in compassion and courage.
Another highlight I touched upon was our emphasis on skill development. We live in a world that demands more than degrees; it demands real, practical abilities. At KBS, we offer a wide range of workshops, training programs, and experiential learning opportunities that help our students become industry-ready. Employers today want doers, thinkers, and problem-solvers, and that’s exactly who we prepare our students to be.
What moved me most was hearing the heartfelt words of our students during the interview. Their appreciation for the vision and values we have built at KBS reminded me why I chose this path in the first place. Being called Dheedhi by my students is more than a title; it’s a reflection of the bond we share, of the trust and connection that goes far beyond the classroom.
I’m truly grateful to Behindwoods for giving me this space to speak about the journey of Kochi Business School. If you haven’t watched the interview yet, I invite you to take a moment - it’s not just an insight into an institution, but into a dream that’s taking shape, one student at a time. At KBS, we’re not just teaching business, but we are shaping the leaders of tomorrow. And that, to me, is the most rewarding journey of all.
