Training Future Leaders: My KBS 2024 MBA Workshop
As I stepped in front of the dynamic, aspirational Kochi Business School 2024 MBA class, I was filled with both excitement and a strong feeling of duty. Our responsibilities as educators extend beyond only giving lectures and assessing student achievement. Our goal is to equip our students to succeed outside of college. I had the honor of overseeing a rigorous placement training program that aimed to close the critical gap between academic success and preparation for the real world.
Because, let's face it! Having grades is no longer enough to get you your ideal job. Speaking with confidence, thinking clearly, and presenting yourself well are just as important in today's tech-driven, people-oriented, fast-paced business world.
This training wasn’t just about theory. It was about transformation. And I believe it was a success!
The training explored everything. From perfecting body language and voice modulation to mastering interview techniques and resume crafting and whatnot!. And the most rewarding part? Watching students shed their fears, speak with power, and carry themselves like professionals-in-the-making. I felt both proud of my students and satisfied with my training efforts.
What made this session stand out was the level of engagement. We did mock interviews that felt real, group discussions that sparked real-time strategy, and self-assessments that brought hidden strengths to the surface. The students faced tough questions, just like they would in an actual boardroom. And they answered, not just with words, but with resilience.
The speed at which they adjusted and helped one another was one aspect that really touched me. It served as a reminder that being a leader involves more than just climbing to the top by yourself; it also requires assisting others to rise.
Our goal at Kochi Business School is not limited to books. Our goal is to build people who are not only prepared for the workforce, but also for the future. And that ambition was reflected in full in this placement training program.
To my dear students: keep learning, keep growing, and don’t be afraid to unlearn too. The world needs not just skilled minds, but also kind hearts, clear voices, and resilient spirits.
And I truly believe you’re ready!!!
